Aligning a Fast-Moving Executive Team

The Challenge
A fast-growing hospitality startup reached out during a moment that felt both exciting and overwhelming. The team was talented and committed, but operating without shared norms, clear decision-making, or a strong sense of “one team.” Communication felt inconsistent, priorities shifted quickly, and the executive team was feeling the strain of building while running.
They needed clarity, alignment, and smarter ways of working — without losing the energy and creativity that make early-stage environments special.
What I Did
I designed and facilitated a full-day offsite focused on three core goals:
Normalize the chaos of early-stage work so the team could stop personalizing the stress and start navigating it together.
Build shared language around communication and working styles using the DiSC assessment.
Create clear executive team norms and a practical 90-day action plan to strengthen alignment, decision-making, and accountability.
The morning included the whole team; the afternoon focused on the executive team’s operating system: how they communicate, make decisions, move at speed, and support one another.
Key Outputs
A shared executive team vision for what great leadership looks like as they scale.
Behavioral norms for communication, conflict, decision-making, and pace.
A set of core focus areas for the next 90 days (process, prioritization, meeting hygiene, clarity of roles, and communication).
A detailed action plan with owners and deadlines — created by the team, not imposed on them.
Stronger trust, clearer expectations, and a healthier sense of momentum.
